The Basics

The interview, which typically follows the psychometric testing, is one of the most important parts of getting the job you are applying for. It is the culmination of all of your good planning and thorough preparation. Typically, the interviewer has already seen your resume, your psychometric test results and established an initial impression. The interview is usually the first opportunity to interact with a potential employer in person and can determine whether you have the opportunity to continue in a company's selection process.

Your interview strategy needs to include:

·                     being prepared

·                     knowing what to expect

·                     eliciting needs

·                     presenting competencies

·                     handling questions.

An interview is your opportunity to sell yourself by demonstrating what your skills and experience can do for the company. It is also your opportunity to get the information you need to decide whether or not this is the right position and organisation for you.
